Challenges: The design process included many challenges including selecting the design, directing photographers around campus to take professional and high quality photos, representing students across all three divisions and different activities, writing and editing text from various sources, selecting photos and not repeating images of students too often. Originally, the Admissions Department had a different vision but after receiving input from other departments, they came up with a design that would be appealing to everyone.
Description: The new Admissions Viewbook is the
main student recruitment and marketing publication for our independent school. This book articulates the mission and values of the school–every child is known and valued–captured in word and through pictures.
Strategy: This book serves to support the mission of our school that Every Child is Known and Valued by allowing prospective families to understand the journey a student will take as they enter Ranney School.
Tactic: This new viewbook is a complete redesign and new look for Ranney School, replacing a book designed 7 years prior. The books color pallet and abundant photos look to tell a story of the “lifer” experience at Ranney that begins for students at age 3 and concludes with graduating high school
Results: The Viewbook has been warmly received by both our current and prospective families. Since the launch of this Viewbook couple with other marketing Ranney School has experience a growth in Inquiries to the school which may in fact be a result of this production. Moreover, this new admissions piece more clearly articulates and supports our mission promise and better presents all that Ranney School offers its students and families.
