Challenges: The biggest challenge facing us during the website re-design was how best to organize the information. We wanted to make it user-friendly and simple, but we had a very large quantity of information to sort through and almost all of it was relevant and necessary to include. This project was also very difficult because of the limited budget and the need for a user-friendly back-end so individuals within the agency would have the ability to edit information on the site without needing web design or coding skills.
Description: Website re-design
Strategy: To create a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing website that is simple to navigate and provides all relevant information about the agency, with a mobile-friendly companion site.
Tactic: All of the information from the previous website was gathered, sorted and organized into an easy-to-navigate outline and all irrelevant information was discarded. Then, everything was uploaded to a hosting and editing platform using a pre-designed theme to create a user-friendly back-end, making it simple for individuals within the agency to update the website as-needed. The code was edited to customize the website and align it to the agency’s branding and identity and the website was made live in May.
Results: Since the launch of the new website, there have been over 5,000 visitors who have viewed almost 12,000 pages and have spent an average duration of 6:08 on the site. This is an increase from 270 visitors in April with 598 page views and an average duration of only 1:41.
